The dark contrasting lines on this bench were created by a fungus in the trees initial stages of decay. The kiln-drying process stopped the decay and leaves behind a stunningly beautiful and fairly rare slab of maple. The design was inspired by the craftsman trestle tables but with it’s gentle curves, spalting and waterfall top it’s a modern interpretation and a good example of Clayson Woodworks “contemporary craftsman” design style. Finished with conversion varnish, 48″x 14″x 18″
